Hey, bumblebees! In every library post, I include at least one hand-drawn (by me) folder icon. Sadly,
you can not change folder icons on windows but hopefully, this information will still come in handy for you if you are a windows user. Although this is one of the coolest personalisation tricks on macbooks, not everyone knows how to do it exactly, so in this post I will go through every step on how!
How to change the folder icons on you macbook:
Save the folder icon provided (don't worry you can delete it later so that it doesn't take up space!) To save the image right click on the image and select save image as...
Find the image in your files and open it. The image should open into a software called Preview.
On the menu bar above choose Edit > Select All > Edit > Copy. (Click on each of the titles consecutively)
Now go to your desktop and right-click on the folder you would like to change the icon of.
Select Get Info
Select the small folder icon at the top of the pop-up
Now, click on the Edit option the menu bar and select paste.
Your folder icon should now be changed into a beautiful image! These steps can be followed for any icon!
Thank you so much for making it all the way down here!!
